As renown pediatric dentist in Stuart, FL, Dr. Nancy Torres has been serving patients for decades. Dr. Nancy received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Colombian College of Dentistry, and later worked for one year in a rural village. While she was there, she realized her love and passion for working with children. She moved back to the United States, completed a two-year residency program at Emory University and Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta, for pediatric dentistry. After completing her post-graduate studies, Dr. Nancy worked as the Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the largest hospital in the Miami area. In 1989, she moved to Martin County to open a private practice, founding Children's Dentistry of Stuart, P.A. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentists, and the Southeastern Society for Children. She attends pediatric dental seminars multiple times a year, in order to stay current with the newest equipment, technology, instruments, and materials available in dentistry. Dr. Nancy has received several awards from different organizations, from the Department of Health and Human Services, to Headstart, to the Florida Department of Children and Families. Dr. Nancy is even a member of the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, as a dedicated civil servant. Since opening her practice, Dr. Nancy has been dedicated to providing dental service to underprivileged children in the community, and adopts a kindergarten class every year. The Children’s Dentistry of Stuart team regularly visit schools and daycare centers in the community to ensure that children and their parents are informed on and excited about proper dental care. Our team even donates toothbrushes and toothpaste to both local children and on missionary trips.

Inspired by her mother’s passion, Dr. Sugar’s path to Pediatric Dentistry started almost thirty years ago right here in Stuart, at Dr. Nancy’s pediatric dental office. Dr. Sugar earned a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida, and completed her professional education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. In her fourth year of dental school, Dr. Sugar was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Epsilon honorary dental society. She served as chief resident at the Pediatric Dental specialty program at Miami Children’s Hospital, receiving top quality specialized training in pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry, and caring for children with special needs. As a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, and the Treasure Coast Dental Society, Dr. Sugar is American Board of Pediatric Dentistry board eligible with the passion and dedication to give every child an incredible dental experience, characterized by trust and a “sweet” approach.
